The problem that connects everyone:
Data that doesn't flow. Systems that don't talk to each other. Rules that can't keep up with reality. These three pains came up in conversations with manufacturers, logistics operators and telecom providers — exactly the same way they come up when we talk to banks and payment providers.
The context is different. For one business it's a delayed shipment of components. For another, it's a stuck transaction. But the root cause is the same: fragmented data and manual processes that don't scale.
Why this matters for fintech:
At Finchecker, we work on AML, KYC and fraud prevention. That's our expertise. But after Riga Comm, we were reminded once again: the problems we solve for banks and PSPs are a specific case of a much broader challenge that every growing company faces.
When a logistics manager talks about how hard it is to verify counterparties and track supply chains, we hear a familiar pain: no single risk picture, and too much manual checking. That's exactly what we help solve in the financial sector — and it's the same problem wearing different clothes.
What we took away:
This isn't about "changing lanes." It's about stepping outside our own industry more often and looking at familiar problems from a different angle. We came back with a few ideas we're now discussing internally. Some of them may show up in our product sooner than you'd expect.
For teams building digital banks, neobanks or payment platforms, the lesson is direct: your compliance stack can't be an afterthought bolted on later. It has to be part of the architecture from day one — modular, API-first, and built to scale with your volume.
